GENERAL INFORMATION
Tours
All tours are guided so you can relax and enjoy your run knowing that you won't
need to worry about finding the way or be continually stopping to check maps and route plans (we do still
provide route plans so you can see where you've been, because you'll probably want to go back in the future).
If you've got a compatible satnav we'll load-up the route maps for you.
The pace on all tours will respect national speed limits and be determined by the road, size of the ride and
assessment of riders by your tour guide. We cater for riders of all experience and our guides are able to vary the
pace during the ride to ensure everyone gets maximum fun from their tour excursion.
Routes
All our routes are carefully designed to be enjoyed by bike so we will take
the scenic options, avoiding motorways and major trunk roads unless absolutely necessary.
Scotland has a network of some of the finest biking roads in the country offering so much variety. This includes
some single track roads with the famous passing places, which the ride will probably have to share with the sheep
and other assorted wildlife. Give way to highland cattle - they are big and often have long horns!
The routes can be tackled on any road-going bike ranging from large touring machine to top selling super-sport;
your comfort preference is totally up to you! It's better to tour on a machine from 500cc upwards, simply because
it will make the riding effortless and therefore more relaxed. It will also be easier keeping everyone
together.
The roads we ride will be a good mixture and will often include minor
roads, which are in the main well surfaced. A few of the single track roads we come across may have a few
potholes and a bit of loose gravel but nothing will be particularly challenging for anyone who is comfortable
on a bike.
When you see the views and experienced these roads, you'll simply just want to do them again!
Organisation and Flexibility
These are our key aims for your holiday enjoyment.
All tours start from our base in Linlithgow where customers will spend the first night attending an initial
introduction and briefing session. This is a chance for everyone to get to know each other and for us to explain
and answer any questions about the itinerary and outline how the guided runs will be organised. At any time during
the tour schedule we will accommodate, when possible, requests for itinerary changes or enhancements - it's your
holiday, so don't be afraid to ask!
Remember, it's Scotland and sometimes it rains here even in summer so we are used to having to make occasional
adjustments to plans!
Similarly if you want a break to do your own thing, just let us know and we can help. The key to the success of
the tour and your holiday is communication!
